Atlas Network has enjoyed a strong start to 2025 with an incredible response from the community to our Atlas Network incentivized Testnet.
Join us as we take a deep dive into what Atlas Network does, who we do it for, and celebrate the potential of the year ahead.
What is Atlas Network?
Atlas Network is the leading general-purpose DePIN for Web3: redefining cloud infrastructure management. Atlas Network’s marketplace ensures that compute providers and consumers benefit from verifiable, high-availability, economically secure infrastructure: allowing anyone to provide, purchase, deploy, and manage verifiable compute.
Cloud compute is a well-established, expanding, and high-earning vertical, with over $300 billion in revenue in the 12 months leading up to November 2024. Most of that revenue is channeled to just 3 major players. This means that cloud compute consumers have to choose between the risks associated with vendor lock-in or the challenges that come with compute resource offerings provided by the smaller players.
Not least of these challenges is enforcing an SLA . When you run critical infrastructure in the cloud, you need to know that your compute provider has the chops to keep those services live. Atlas Network’s verifiable, DePIN orchestration layer allows compute providers to verifiably demonstrate the resilience of the service they provide to compute consumers.
By using the Atlas Network Marketplace’s permissionless, decentralized, and secure compute offering, consumers such as blockchains, applications, and protocols can source the reliable and affordable compute power they need.
This brings immediate relief from the challenges of the status quo cloud compute model; compute consumers can:
Enhance resilience and disaster recovery by quickly and easily distributing workloads across different providers.
Avoid the technical debt associated with being tied to proprietary services.
Leverage the marketplace’s flexibility to benefit from the strengths of different providers.
Atlas Network offers to transform the traditional compute consumption model by implementing the best that blockchain technology has to offer: decentralized, tamper-proof protocols. Atlas Network enforces compute provider’s integrity with its Autonomous Verifiable Services . This ensures that compute providers are incentivized to meet their SLAs through automated rewards and penalties: all verifiably monitored and enforced via the NodeWatch Network.
Who is Atlas Network for?
Atlas Network is for businesses that provide compute and consumers that need compute. Atlas Network's service-agnostic Marketplace acts like a matchmaker between these compute providers and compute consumers—whether they will use the compute for low-demand node operations or high-demand AI, ML, and data modeling.
What services does Atlas Network offer?
The Atlas Network marketplace shifts power away from centralized entities and offers participants the following key services:
Permissionless orchestration
Atlas Network enables a decentralized, permissionless layer for compute orchestration. No middleman controls who provides or consumes compute.
Resilience and reliability
By leveraging strong scheduling and node score derivations, Atlas Network ensures robust operational reliability by strict slashing. It mitigates risks associated with centralized failures and promotes fault tolerance.
Demand-driven Marketplace
Atlas Network’s Marketplace facilitates seamless interaction between compute providers and consumers. This demand-driven model optimizes resource utilization and ensures scalability.
AI-powered containerization and agentic approach
With AI-powered containerization, Atlas Network builds on the foundation developed by the experienced NodeOps team, to offer dynamic, intelligent deployment environments that can autonomously adapt to various workflows and integrate seamlessly with agent-driven systems.
Integrated economic security
Atlas Network leverages AVS, an incentivization mechanism that enables projects to create custom staking pools tailored to their network’s needs. This not only improves economic alignment but also enhances the overall security of the blockchain component of the ecosystem.
2025: The year of decentralized compute — Atlas Network
2025 is the year when Atlas Network demonstrates what an open and fair ecosystem for compute providers and consumers looks like. Our incentivized Testnet is tremendously popular among the wider community, with 49k+ machines onboarded and 249k+ Testnet participants.
Our focus for 2025 is to:
Expand the ecosystem: Scale Testnet beyond the current 50K compute providers and onboard more diverse participants.
Performance & Security: Aim to have at least 1 Million CUs Under Management, and focus on building a strong compute utilization rate of more than 70%.
Enhance AVS mechanisms: Roll out advanced staking pools and shared security mechanisms to ensure network resilience.
Diversify the use cases: to launch Atlas Network Mainnet as a general purpose DePIN: Push adoption across AI workflows, gaming, blockchain, and media—broadening Atlas Network’s impact.
Wen token?
Many of our community are already asking: “wen token?”, especially those who are already earning Node Points as rewards for participating in the Incentivized Atlas Network Testnet.
All we can say for now is, “soon”. If you want be the first to be notified about the $NODE public sale, then use our Subscribe form below. Expect to learn more about how the Atlas Network will use $NODE as part of its economic security in upcoming blogs.
As Atlas Network builds on its strong foundation, it’s poised to redefine the way we think about decentralized compute. By addressing the inefficiencies of traditional infrastructure and unlocking new possibilities for AI, gaming, blockchain ecosystems, and beyond, Atlas is driving the evolution of Web3 infrastructure.
